Abstract
The present invention relates to a relay (1), comprising a relay coil (3) with a coil beginning (5) and a coil end (6) connected to a relay driving circuit (11); and a relay switch (4) disposed in a load circuit (10). A first parasitic capacitance (8) is formed between the coil beginning (5) and the relay switch (4) and a second parasitic capacitance (9) is formed between the coil end (6) and the relay switch (4), wherein the first parasitic capacitance (8) is different from the second parasitic capacitance (9). Preferably, the second parasitic capacitance (9) is smaller than the first parasitic capacitance (8). By selecting the polarity of the relay coil (3) in the relay driving circuit (11), i.e. by selecting whether to connect the coil beginning (5) or the coil end (6) to a certain node (15,17) of the relay driving circuit (11) capacitive coupling to this node (15,17) can be either increased or decreased. The present invention further relates to a battery system (50) comprising a plurality of battery cell (40) and such relay (1), wherein the load circuit (1) connects these battery cells (40) and at least one external load (60). The present invention further relates to a method for optimizing EMC characteristics of a relay (1).
