Abstract

A communication unit (10) and a safety system (100), through which an increase in initial cost is minimized in constructing a safety system (100), are provided. In a communication unit (10) of the invention, two input and output portions (3,4) are configured to be directly connected to each other when a plurality of unit main bodies (1) are connected to each other in series, and a notched portion (5) forming a disposition space for a connection portion-side terminal (8a) of at least a cable (8) is provided at an end (1b) of the unit main body (1).
