Abstract

A conformal heat shield (190) for a gas turbine engine (20) comprises a first section (200) including a first arcuate segment (240a) and a second arcuate segment (240b) circumferentially adjacent to the first arcuate segment (240a). The first arcuate segment (240a) and the second arcuate segment (240b) each comprises a distal metal layer (210) including a plurality of loops (258) extending radially outward from the distal metal layer (210). A proximal metal layer (212) is located radially inward of the distal metal layer (210). An insulating material (228) is located between the distal metal layer (210) and the proximal metal layer (212). A first strap (214) is located through the plurality of loops (258).
