Abstract

A heat shield panel arrangement for use in a combustor (200) of a gas turbine engine (20) is disclosed. The heat shield panel arrangement includes a first panel (316) having a first rail (332), the first rail (332) having a first distal tip (384) and a first angled outer wall (336), the first distal tip (384) having a first distal tip length (385); and a second panel (318) having a second rail (334), the second rail (334) having a second distal tip (386) and a second angled outer wall (338), the second distal tip (386) having a second distal tip length (387). The first distal tip length (385) is less than the second distal tip length (387) and the first angled outer wall (336) is substantially parallel to the second angled outer (338) wall with a gap (330) formed therebetween.
