Abstract

An instrument for attaching to a bone anchor, more sprecifically aretractor blade (10, 10') for attaching to a bone anchor is provided, in particular for orthopedic or neuro surgery, more specifically for spinal surgery, comprising a blade portion (1, 1',) and an end portion (13) for connecting to a head (102) of a bone anchoring element (100, 100'), wherein the end portion (13) is configured to accommodate at least a portion of the head (102) of the bone anchoring element (100, 100') and comprises a first section (14a) configured to permit placement of the retractor blade (10, 10') onto and removal from the head (102) and that further comprises a second section (14b) that is configured to prevent removal of the retractor blade (10, 10') from the head (102). Furthermore, an instrument for distraction and/or retraction comprising such a retractor blade is provided.
