Abstract

A movable maintenance robot system, a method and an elevator (100) for providing maintenance and/or rescue operation to an elevator car (10) of the elevator (100) are presented. The elevator (100) comprises an electric linear motor comprising at least one stator beam (16) arranged in fixed manner with respect to an elevator shaft (13) of the elevator (100), wherein the movable maintenance robot (50) comprises a motor portion (51) configured for moving along a first motor portion (16, 56) and a coupling interface (130) for coupling the robot (50) with the elevator car (10) for providing the maintenance and/or the rescue operation, the coupling interface (130) comprising a first part (110) arranged to the movable maintenance robot (50) and configured for coupling with a second part (120), the second part (120) being adapted for coupling to the elevator car (10).
