Abstract

In some examples, an aircraft gearbox (302) comprises a plurality of gears (304 a-c) and a hybrid lubrication system (324) to lubricate the plurality of gears (304a-c, 306a-c). The plurality of gears (304a-c, 306a-c) comprises a first gear (304a) and a second gear (306c). The plurality of gears (304a-c, 306a-c) operable to rotate based on torque received from a driveshaft. The hybrid lubrication system (324) comprises a pressurized lubrication system (326) and a non-pressurized lubrication system (328). The pressurized lubrication system (326) comprises a nozzle (312a) to spray a lubricant onto the first gear (304a). The non-pressurized lubrication system (328) comprises a reservoir (318) to catch a portion of the lubricant from the pressurized lubrication system (326). The second gear (306c) is operable to disperse the lubricant across others of the plurality of gears (306a-b) based on the second gear (306c) rotating through the portion of the lubricant.
