Abstract

A cyber monitored control system (101) includes a controller (201) with a first processing resource (202) operable to execute a control application (203) for a controlled system (100). The cyber monitored control system (101) also includes a cyber monitor (205) with a second processing resource (206) isolated from the first processing resource (202). The cyber monitor (205) is operable to evaluate a plurality of inputs to the cyber monitored control system (101) with respect to a cyber threat model (230), apply trending (232) using the cyber threat model (230) to distinguish between a fault and a cyber attack, and isolate one or more subsystems of the cyber monitored control system (101) based on identifying the cyber attack.
