Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a front panel (3) with a preformed thin decorative layer (1) and a thermoplastic layer (2), wherein the thermoplastic layer (2) provides a haptic stimulus, which comprises a step of placing the preformed thin decorative layer (1), particularly a metal film or a plastic film, in a mold cavity (6) of an injection molding machine (4). The method further comprises injecting a thermoplastic material (2a) into the mold cavity (6) and at least partially over the preformed thin decorative layer (1) to create the thermoplastic layer (2) comprising the thermoplastic material (2a) and being integrally formed with the decorative layer (1). Furthermore, the method comprises letting the thermoplastic layer (2) or both layers (1, 2) set in the mold. Afterwards the method comprises ejecting the front panel (3) from the mold cavity (6) when at least the thermoplastic layer (2) is set.
