Abstract

A backlight unit (20) includes: a first light source (22a), a first front lens (25) configured to condense light emitted from the first light source (22a), a first rear lens (23) configured to condense light emitted from the first front lens (25), a second light source (22b) adjacent to the first light source (22a), a second front lens (26) configured to condense light emitted from the second light source (22b), a second rear lens (24) connected with the first rear lens (23) at an edges (El, E2) and configured to condense light emitted from the second front lens (26), and a diffusion member (27) facing a light-emitting surface (23b) of the first rear lens (23) and a light-emitting surface (24b) of the second rear lens (24). An outer edge portion of the light condensed by the first front lens (25) enters the edge (E2) of the second rear lens (24), and an outer edge portion of the light condensed by the second front lens (26) enters the edge (El) of the first rear lens (23) .
