Abstract

A method for preparation of a sulfur curable rubber composition is disclosed. Therubber composition comprising dual cis 1,4-polybutadiene rubbers, a reinforcing filler comprising a combination of carbon black and silica together and dual silica couplers. The method comprises: (A) preparation of a first masterbatch comprising a blend of a first or specialized cis 1,4-polybutadiene elastomer, a filler reinforcement comprising at least one of carbon black and silica together with a first or specialized silica coupler; (B) preparation of a second masterbatch comprising a blend of a second or designated cis 1,4-polybutadiene elastomer, a filler reinforcement comprising at least one of carbon black and silica together with a second or designated silica coupler; and (C) blending said first and second masterbatch together, followed by subsequent addition of zinc oxide and sulfur curatives comprising sulfur and at least one vulcanization accelerator to said blend. Also, a rubber composition and a tire made by using this method are disclosed.
