Abstract

An embedded processing system (102) includes processing circuitry (114) configured to execute a plurality of computer executable instructions, and a memory system (116) configured to store a plurality of configuration items (200; 312), where at least one of the configuration items (200; 312) includes a sequence of the computer executable instructions. The embedded processing system (102) also includes an authentication control (126) configured to authenticate an immutable anchor (314) associated with the embedded processing system (102), authenticate integrity of a reconfigurable entity map (212) associated with the memory system (116), authenticate the configuration items (200; 312) based on the reconfigurable entity map (212), and perform an accommodation measure based on an authentication failure of at least one of the configuration items (200; 312).
