Abstract

A vehicle display device (1) includes a projection device (30) including a light-transmitting image display unit (12) displaying an image, a light source (20) emitting light to the image display unit (12) from a back surface side or a front surface side, and a light-shielding cover (13) disposed on a front surface of the image display unit (12) and including an opening (14). The projection device (30) projects an image onto a reflection unit (WS) disposed in front of an occupant (200) in a vehicle. When the projection device (30) is viewed from the front surface side, a shape of the opening (14) is a shape similar to a shape of an image display region (12b) in the image display unit (12), and the opening (14) is separated from an outer edge of the image display region (12b) and surrounds the image display region (12b).
