Abstract
An image capturing apparatus comprises operation means configured to receive a movement operation performed by a user to move a focal point detection region displayed on a screen; and control means for performing control such that a movement amount of the focal point detection region on the screen, in accordance with the movement operation received by the operation means, is set according to a shooting state of the image capturing apparatus.
