Abstract

Method for controlling a dual clutch transmission (1) for achieving a brake-to-clutch functionality for an off road vehicle, the method comprising the following steps:• receiving an input for starting to brake the vehicle which is moving in a forward or rearward direction;• selecting a gear (15) of the shaft (12) which is not engaged in the forward or rearward mechanical motion path;• starting to engage the first/second clutch (8) of first/second shaft (12) which is not engaged in the forward or rearward mechanical motion path so that first/second clutch (8) starts to slip;• when a target condition of transmission (1) is reached, then start to disengage the main forward or rearward clutch (5, 6) till it starts to slip; and• maintaining the precedent configuration till the braking input is present.
