Abstract

An airfoil assembly (60) includes first and second ceramic airfoil pieces (62, 64) that each have first and second platforms (66, 68) and a hollow airfoil section (70) that connects the first and second platforms (66, 68). First and second spars (71, 72) extend through, respectively, the hollow airfoil sections (70). A seal (75) has a seal body (77) that defines at least one orifice (78) and a seal portion (79). The first spar (71) extends through one of the at least one orifices (78) and the seal portion (79) bridges a mate face (M) between the first platforms (66) of the first and second ceramic airfoil pieces (62, 64).
