Abstract

The invention relates to a computer-implemented method for performing a validation of test results provided by an analyzing instrument. The method comprises receiving information related to a collection source of a body fluid sample collected from a body cavity. It is determined, based on the received information, whether the body fluid sample corresponds to a first group including at least one specific type of body fluid, or a second group including at least a plurality of types of body fluids other than the specific type of body fluid. A test result of the body fluid sample is obtained from the analyzing instrument. The obtained test results are validated based on a first validation rule when the body fluid sample corresponds to the first group, and validated the obtained test result based on a second validation rule different from the first validation rule when the body fluid sample corresponds to the second group.
