Abstract

A method and a sampling tool (36;360) for collecting particles from lubrication fluid (27) of an engine (10) are disclosed. The particles collected may be used to conduct analysis to diagnose a condition of the engine (10). The tool (36;360) can be detachably connectable to a lubrication system (20) of the engine (10). The tool (36;360) comprises an inlet (38) for receiving lubrication fluid (27) from the lubrication system (20) of the engine (10), a filter (42) and a pump (44) configured to induce a flow of the lubrication fluid (27) through the filter (42).
