Abstract
The buffer tube (200) for an optical fiber cable provided by the present disclosure includes optical fibre ribbon stack (202), first layer (204), second layer (206), optical fibre cable (300), central strength member (302), plurality of buffer tubes (304), water blocking layer (306), sheath (308) and plurality of rip cords (310). The first layer (204) is an inner layer of the buffer tube (200). The first layer (204) is made of a soft material. The soft material of the first layer (204) is one of low smoke zero halogen, thermoplastic elastomers and thermoplastic polyurethane. The second layer (206) is an outer layer of the buffer tube (200). The second layer (206) surrounds the first layer (204). The second layer (206) is made of a hard material. The hard material of the second layer (206) is one of polypropylene, polybutylene terephthalate, and nylon.
