Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a computer-implemented method, a computer program and a system for assigning a plurality of ride requests to a plurality of vehicles. The method comprises receiving ride requests of the plurality of ride requests in a continuous manner. The method comprises accumulating the ride requests that were received in a first time period. The method comprises assigning the ride requests that were received in the first time period to the plurality of vehicles using a rough heuristic. The method comprises executing a metaheuristic iterative improvement algorithm to reassign ride requests that were received in a second time period to the plurality of vehicles. The second time period comprises the first time period. The second time period is longer than the first time period. The method comprises repeating the assignment for a subsequent first time period.
