Abstract
This device (10) for a steel tube (20) designed to be secured on a portion (22) of said tube used in a tubular hydrocarbon column includes a substantially cylindrical envelope (11) extending along a longitudinal axis (A1) and designed to surround the box portion (22) of the first steel tube (20) and said envelope forming an opened ring so that a circumferential gap subsists between two free ends (11c, 11d) of said envelope (11); and a locking mechanism (16) fixed to the envelope (11) in the vicinity of the circumferential gap and configured to bring the free ends of the envelope closer to each other in a locked position.
