Abstract

The gas turbine engine part (24) can have a heat sink portion (26) having a surface (28) having a plurality of protrusions (32, 40; 140; 240) distributed over an area of the surface, the protrusions (32, 40; 140; 240) projecting away from the surface (28) and including protrusions (32) being adjacent to one another and collectively forming an identifier (34). A flow of cooling air can be directed to the protrusions (32) forming the identifier (34) to cool the part.
