Abstract

A print position adjustment mode is performed with high accuracy while consumption of print media is saved. To this end, an inkjet printing apparatus 1 prints an adjustment pattern including multiple patches 1401-1403 for adjusting print positions of dots by a print head 202 on a print medium P. In this printing, patch sets next to each other 1401-1404 in a scanning direction are printed above platen ribs 1303 at intervals based on rib pitches at which the platen ribs 1303 are arranged.
