Abstract

A crawler type traveling body (10) includes a drive wheel (13), an in-wheel motor (14) incorporated in the drive wheel (13), a plurality of rotating wheels (15a, 15b) disposed below the drive wheel, a crawler (11), and a tensioner (25). The crawler (11) is wound around the drive wheel (13) and the rotating wheels (15a, 15b) and configured to be rotated by the drive wheel (13). The tensioner (25) is coupled to a drive shaft (141) of the in-wheel motor (14) and configured to press the drive wheel (13) against the crawler (11) and apply tension to the crawler (11).
