Abstract

The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing a three-dimensional inlay part (10) for an interior trim part (58) of a vehicle (12), comprising the steps of providing a thermo-formable main layer (14) having a decor side (18) and a rear side (16), wherein an adhesive layer (20) is applied on the rear side (16), and a releasable foil (22) is applied on the adhesive layer (20), inserting the thermo-formable main layer (14) including the adhesive layer (20) and the releasable foil (22) into a forming unit (26), forming the thermo-formable main layer (14) into a three-dimensional inlay part (10) by applying pressure and heat by means of the forming unit (26), and removing the three-dimensional inlay part (10) from the forming unit (26). Moreover, the present disclosure is directed to a three-dimensional inlay part (10) for an interior trim part (58) of a vehicle (12).
