Abstract
The present invention describes an electric generator (11) for a wind turbine (1) including: a stator (20) having one or more segments (S1, ..., SN) circumferentially extending about a longitudinal axis (Y) of the stator (20), an electrical circuit (21) associated with said segments (S1, ..., SN), the electrical circuit (21) including at least a coil winding (31) wound on one of said segments (S1, ..., SN), the coil winding (31) including an electrical insulation. The electrical circuit (21) comprises at least one current sensor (33) for measuring a current flowing in the electrical circuit (21). The electric generator (11) includes a controller for receiving a current measurement from said current sensor (33), calculating parameters depending on an impedance of at least a portion of said electrical circuit (21), determining a status of the insulation of a portion of the electrical circuit (21).
