Abstract

There is provided a pipe connection arrangement 200 for a heat exchanger 208 and a method of connecting a pipe 216 to a heat exchanger 208. The pipe connection arrangement 200 comprises: a metallic block fitting 202; a flange 204 for coupling to the block fitting 202; and a seal 226. The block fitting 202 comprises a bore 214 extending therethrough for receiving a pipe 216 for connection to a heat exchanger 208 and the flange comprises a bore 228 extending therethrough for receiving the pipe. The block fitting 202 comprises a surface 240 that faces the flange 204 when the flange 204 is coupled to the block fitting 202, the surface 240 comprising a plateau portion 234 surrounding the bore 214 and extending towards the flange 204. The seal 226 is configured for location between and for abutting both the plateau portion 234 and an annular collar 224 of the pipe 216 when it is connected by the pipe connection arrangement.
