Abstract

Certain examples of the present invention relate to header compression in a wireless communication network. Certain examples provide a Control Plane Radio Access Network node, CP-RAN node, of a Central Unit, CU, of a disaggregated RAN node, wherein the CU comprises at least the CP-RAN node and a User Plane, UP, RAN node; the CP-RAN node comprising: means for receiving, from the UP-RAN node, at least one status indicative of the UP-RAN node's capacity to perform at least one respective type of header compression; and means for sending configuration information for the at least one type of header compression to a User Equipment, UE, based in part on the respective at least one status.
