Abstract
An identification device (10) for an absorbent article such as a diaper (11) of a wearer is provided. The identification device (10) comprises a device identifier (12), a communication unit (13), and a pairing unit (14) connected to the communication unit (13). In this context, the communication unit (13) is configured to receive a personal identifier with respect to the wearer from a nearby back-end unit (15) and to provide the personal identifier for the pairing unit (14). In addition to this, the pairing unit (14) is configured to link the personal identifier to the device identifier (12).
