Abstract

Disclosed is a compression apparatus, comprising: an outer shell (12); a first plate (14) and second plate (16), wherein the first plate and the second plate are located within the outer shell, wherein a face (18) of the first plate opposes a face (20) of the second plate; and a compression mechanism (22) which retractably moves the face of the second plate into contact with the face of the first plate; wherein the face of the first plate or the face of the second plate comprises a substrate layer (24), and a coating layer (26) over the substrate layer, wherein the coating layer comprises a plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition material.
