Abstract

Use of a compatibilizer (B) for upgradinga polypropylene-polyethylene blend (A) comprising(A-1) polypropylene and(A-2) polyethylenewherein the weight ratio of polypropylene (A-1) to polyethylene (A-2) is in the range from 19:1 to 1:19with respect to at least one or more of the following properties(i) elongation at break (ISO 527-1,2; F3/4),(ii) Charpy notched impact strength (1eA) (non-instrumented, ISO 179-1 at +23 °C),(iii) Charpy notched impact strength (1eA) (non-instrumented, ISO 179-1 at 0 °C),(iv) Charpy notched impact strength (1eA) (non-instrumented, ISO 179-1 at -20 °C),(v) puncture resistance (energy, IS07785-2 at +23°C) and(vi) low temperature puncture resistance (energy, ISO 7765-2 at 0°C or -20°C), wherein compatibilizer (B) is used in an amount of 1 to 35 wt.-% preferably 2 to 25 wt.-%, more preferably 3 to 9 wt.-% with respect to the final composition.
