Abstract
Provided is a novel actuator that can easily achieve movement with multiple degrees of freedom. An actuator 1 includes a flexible electrode 10, a first base electrode 20 disposed to face the flexible electrode 10 on the Y-axis and provided with a first insulating layer 23a, 23b on an opposite face 21, a second base electrode 30 disposed to face the flexible electrode 10 on the X-axis and provided with a second insulating layer 33a, 33b on an opposite face 31, and a first output member 50 and a second output member 60 adapted to be displaced according to deformation of the flexible electrode 10. A first space 24 is formed between the first insulating layer 23a, 23b and the flexible electrode 10, in which the flexible electrode 10 deforms toward the first insulating layer 23a, 23b by an applied voltage. A second space 34 is formed between the second insulating layer 33a, 33b and the flexible electrode 10, in which the flexible electrode 10 deforms toward the second insulating layer 33a, 33b by an applied voltage.
