Abstract

According to an aspect of the invention, it is provided a method for optimizing execution of workflows intended to be executed on a HPC system, each workflow being associated with at least one file, the method comprising the following steps:- Obtention of a signature for each file associated with the workflow;- If the workflow is not associated with a workflow lifecycle model:∘ Obtention of a file lifecycle for each file associated with the workflow;∘ Building and supervised training of a workflow lifecycle model on the signature and the file lifecycle obtained for each file associated with the workflow, to predict a file lifecycle from the corresponding signature, to obtain a workflow lifecycle comprising each predicted file lifecycle;∘ Association of the workflow lifecycle model with the workflow;- Use of the workflow lifecycle model associated with the signature to obtain a workflow lifecycle for the workflow;- Use of an optimization model to obtain policies for placement of each file associated with the workflow in at least one file cache subsystem of the HPC system, from the obtained workflow lifecycle and a filling state of each file cache subsystem.
