Abstract

A guide apparatus (1) for guiding a load (8) being hoisted between a wind turbine platform (3) and a nacelle (5). One or more guide wire assemblies (11a,11b) are provided, each comprising a nacelle coupling (14a,14b) for connection to an anchor point in the nacelle (5), a platform coupling (13a,13b) for connection to the wind turbine platform (3), and a cable (12a,12b) connecting between them. In each of the guide wire assemblies (11a,11b), one of the nacelle and platform couplings also comprises a tensioner (19) for pulling the cable (12a,12b) taut between the couplings. A harness (9) is provided for attachment to the load (8) and comprises one or more slidable couplings for slidably tethering the load (8) to the cables (12a,12b) for restraining its lateral movement as the load is hoisted.
