Abstract
The invention relates to method of identifying an object signature (10) in an environment (20). The method comprises acquiring infrared information from the environment (20) using a detection unit (31) in order to obtain an infrared wavelength spectrum associated with the environment (20, S10). The method further comprises selecting three wavelength bands (λ<1>, λ<2>, λ<3>) of the infrared wavelength spectrum using a filtering unit (32, S20) and detecting a presence of the three wavelength bands (λ<1>, λ<2>, λ<3>) of the infrared wavelength spectrum in the environment (20) by filtering the selected three wavelength bands (λ<1>, λ<2>, λ<3>) using the filtering unit (32, S30). The method further comprises determining an intensity indicator (I) for the three selected wavelength bands (λ<1>, λ<2>, λ<3>) using a processing unit (33, S40) and classifying the object signature (10) using the processing unit (33) based on the determined intensity indicator (I) in order to identify the object signature (S50).
