Abstract

A level reader device (60) for a package producing machine is disclosed herein. The level reader device (60) comprises a housing (62) extending in a longitudinal direction being substantially parallel to a filling direction (44) of a tube of packaging material (24), and a plurality of sensors (64) being distributed in the housing (62) along the longitudinal direction and configured to provide one or more sensor readings (65). The level reader device (60) further comprises a processing unit (66) being configured to determine a level (80) of liquid in the tube of packaging material (24) based on the one or more sensor readings (65).
