Abstract
Provided is an electro-optical distance meter in which an error in a distance value caused by noise is reduced without specially devising components and wirings. An electro-optical distance meter (100) includes a light source (11), a light receiving element (22) and a received light amount adjusting means (21), an arithmetic control unit (40), and a storage unit (50), and is configured to measure an electrical noise signal by putting the received light amount adjusting means (21) into a state where the received light amount adjusting means (21) completely blocks light, measure a distance-measuring signal by putting the received light amount adjusting means (21) into a proper state, and calculate a distance by subtracting the electrical noise signal and an optical noise signal from the distance-measuring signal. The arithmetic control unit (40) measures a first noise signal by putting the received light amount adjusting means (21) into a state where the received light amount adjusting means (21) completely blocks light with a noise measuring jig (80) attached to the electro-optical distance meter (100). The noise measuring jig (80) is configured detachable from the electro-optical distance meter (100), is configured to remove reflected light entering the light receiving element when attached and has a unique jig-derived noise signal. The arithmetic control unit (40) measures a second noise signal by putting the received light amount adjusting means (21) into a state where the received light amount adjusting means (21) transmits light most with the noise measuring jig (80) attached. The arithmetic control unit (40) calculates the optical noise signal by subtracting the first noise signal and the jig-derived noise signal from the second noise signal, and stores the optical noise signal in the storage unit.
