Abstract

A controller (114) for a DC-DC converter (100) that includes an inductor (104). The DC-DC converter (100) has three phases of operation: a first phase (118), in which an input voltage charges the inductor (104); a second phase (120), in which the inductor (104) discharges to a load (110); and a third phase (122), in which the inductor (104) is disconnected from the load (110), and in which the input voltage does not charge the inductor (104). The controller (114) is configured to: set a control-factor based on the input voltage of the DC-DC converter (100); and set the duration of the third phase (122) based on: the control-factor; and the sum of the duration of the first phase (118) and the second phase (120).
