Abstract

In one aspect the present invention relates to a method for estimating a tilt state of parts (P) which are to be cut-out of a workpiece (WP) by means of a laser cutting head (H) of a laser machine (L) and which are placed on a support element (G) of a support structure (WT). The method comprises: - Receiving (S1) a cutting plan with position data, representing a relative position of the workpiece with the parts to be cut and a support element (grate) of the support structure; - Accessing (S2) a tilt estimator with an implemented and executable preprocessed probability function; - Executing (S3) the probability function for each of the parts to be cut, for calculating a probability-assigned tilt volume, wherein the probability function calculates all possible tilting states of the parts to be cut, based on at least the received position data and wherein the probability function further assigns to each calculated tilting state a probability risk, indicating the probability that the part will be transferred in said calculated tilting state after complete cutting-out the part of the workpiece; - Providing (S4) the calculated probability-assigned tilt volume, which may be used for collision avoidance with respect to the cutting head.
