Abstract

A stator 10 includes slots 13 sized to house conductors 14, and stator teeth 12. Each of the stator teeth 12 includes a tooth main body 16 and a flange 17 extending from the innermost end of the tooth main body 16 in a radial direction toward the geometric centerline of a rotor 20. The flange 17 includes a flange base 18 and a flange-base protrusion 19 extending from the flange base 18 in one and the opposite circumferential directions along the inner periphery 11B of the stator 10. The flange-base protrusion 19 includes a first protruded part 19A at the innermost end of the flange 17 and a second protruded part 19B located radially outward from the first protruded part 19A in a radial direction away from the geometric centerline of the rotor 20.
