Abstract
A computer-implemented method includes monitoring a hybrid electric turbine engine (220) of an aircraft (200), the hybrid electric turbine engine including a first electric machine (240,) associated with a high speed spool (230) and a second electric machine (242) associated with a low speed spool (232). The method further includes receiving an indication of a failed electric machine (241, 243), the failed electric machine being an electric machine on another hybrid electric turbine engine (221) of the aircraft (200), and, responsive to detecting the failed electric machine, distributing power from one or more of the first electric machine or the second electric machine to a spool (231, 233) associated with the failed electric machine.
