Abstract

A method is provided for determining a crop tank filling level in an agricultural harvester (10). The method comprises a step of receiving a first trigger signal from a first crop tank sensor (81, 82), the first trigger signal corresponding to a first crop tank filling level. After receiving the first trigger signal, a harvesting yield is estimated based on a travelled distance and a predetermined average yield parameter. A current crop tank filling level is calculated based on the first crop tank filling level and the estimated harvesting yield. The method further comprises receiving a second trigger signal from a second crop tank sensor (82, 83), the second trigger signal corresponding to a second crop tank filling level. The second crop tank filling level is different from the first crop tank filling level. Upon receiving the second trigger signal, the predetermined average yield parameter is calibrated based on the calculated current crop tank filling level and the first and second crop tank filling levels. Preferably, the method further comprises a step of adjusting the calculated current crop tank filling level in dependence of the second trigger signal.
