Abstract

A stuffer assembly (24) comprises a stuffer chute (32) and a stuffer (34) for transferring crop material from the stuffer chute (32) into a baling chamber (6). The stuffer (34) comprises a tine bar (50) having a plurality of tines (38). Each tine (38) is slidably connected to the tine bar (50) to be linearly movable with respect to the tine bar (50) between an extended position and a retracted position parallel to a radial direction of the tine bar. A method accordingly comprises retracting a tine (38) from the extended into the retracted position in case of an overload.
