Abstract

A lens apparatus detachably attached to an image pickup apparatus body includes a controller configured to perform communication with the image pickup apparatus body with respect to driving of an optical member, wherein the controller is configured to transmit, based on first information for identifying the image pickup apparatus body transmitted from the image pickup apparatus body, second information for identifying the lens apparatus to the image pickup apparatus body, and transmit, based on third information for identifying the image pickup apparatus body transmitted from the image pickup apparatus body after the transmission of the second information, fourth information for identifying the lens apparatus to the image pickup apparatus body.
