Abstract

A home appliance comprising: a cabinet (10) having a space formed therein; a door (20) configured to open and close the cabinet (10) and including a panel assembly (30), wherein the panel assembly (30) includes a lighting device (36) configured to emit light and a front plate (31) forming an exterior of the door (20), the front plate (31) being configured to transmit the light from the lighting device (36); and a controller (13) configured to control the lighting device (36), wherein the front plate (31) includes a base layer (31a) and a coloured layer (31b) formed on the base layer (3 1a), the coloured layer (31b) having a first colour, wherein the front plate (31) has the first colour when the lighting device (36) is turned off, and a second colour different from the first colour when the lighting device (36) is turned on.
