Abstract

A manual override mechanism for use in a vacuum toilet system may comprise: a shaft (314) extending from a knob (312); a traveler (316) configured to engage the shaft (314), the traveler (316) comprising a first gear (317); a motor rack (360) comprising a second gear (362) configured to engage the first gear (317); and a flush gate (370) extending from the motor rack (360), the flush gate (370) configured to transition from a closed position to an open position in response to rotation of the shaft (314).
