Abstract

The invention describes a method of controlling a wind turbine (1) comprising at least one fan-cooled unit (2) with a fan (2F) adapted to circulate air (2<air>) inside a housing (20) of the fan-cooled unit (2), which method comprises operating the fan-cooled unit (2) in a dryout mode (2<dryout>) by: disabling a thermal energy reduction means (21, 22, 23, 24) of the fan-cooled unit (2), which thermal energy reduction means (21, 22, 23, 24) is adapted to reduce thermal energy of air (2<air>) inside the housing (20) during a normal operation mode (2<normal>) of the fan-cooled unit (2); actuating a fan (2F) of the fan-cooled unit (2) to circulate the quantity of air (2<air>) contained in the housing (20); and monitoring a climate parameter until a target climate condition (T<min>, RH<max>) has been reached. The invention also describes a wind turbine (1) configured to execute the steps of the inventive method.
