Abstract

A hand-held mixer (10, 110) includes a housing (12, 112), a pillar (60, 160) coupled to the housing (10, 110) at a pillar proximal end (62, 162) and extending to a pillar distal end (64, 164), a motor (28, 128) within at least one of the housing (12, 112) and the pillar (54, 154), a first beater hub (35) removably receiving a first beater (24, 124), and a battery receptacle (66, 166) at the pillar distal end (64, 164). The battery receptacle (66, 166) receives a battery pack (72, 172) with a battery (74, 174) for powering the motor (28, 128) such that the battery pack (72, 172) is operable between a docked condition and an undocked condition. In the docked condition, the battery pack (72, 172) is engaged with the battery receptacle (66, 166) to provide power to the motor (28, 128). In an undocked condition, the battery pack (72, 172) is disengaged from the battery receptacle (66, 166). The battery pack (72, 172) moves along a battery pack axis (76, 176) that is substantially perpendicular to a first beater axis of rotation (40, 140) from the undocked condition to the docked condition.
