Abstract

A kitchen exhaust appliance (100) includes a body having a plurality of external surface panels (110) and defining an exhaust vent therethrough, and an anti-dripping coating (120) applied to at least one of the external surface panels (110). The anti-dripping coating (120) is formulated from a solvent and a precursor. Upon application to the at least one of the external surface panels (110), the anti-dripping coating (120) forms a coated surface (125) having a water contact angle of at least 90 degrees thereon. The coated surface (125) exhibits a low surface energy to avoid droplet conglomeration thereon.
