Abstract

A method and apparatus for monitoring a thermal load in an enclosure comprising at least one electric device, the apparatus being configured to receive temperature data on a temperature outside the enclosure (11), temperature data on a temperature inside the enclosure (11) and data indicative of heat generated by the at least one electric device (12) into the enclosure (11), to determine a thermal resistance of the enclosure (11) and/or a thermal capacitance of the enclosure (11) on the basis of the received data, and to determine a cooling status of the enclosure (11) on the basis of the determined thermal resistance of the enclosure (11) and thermal resistance reference data and/or on the basis of the determined thermal capacitance of the enclosure (11) and thermal capacitance reference data.
